The world of work and careers is changing rapidly. The Connetquot High School Business Academy recognizes that in an increasingly global world, students need to build a variety of skills to be competitive 21st century citizens. The employers of tomorrow are looking for workers who possess a wide range of skills, including critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, communication, problem solving, self-direction, creativity and economic/business/ financial literacy.

The Business Academy offers a strong elective program for students in Connetquot High School.  Our partnership with Farmingdale State University, allowing our students to earn college credit for most of our business courses.  Our business department strives to provide students with the technical, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills necessary for pursuing a college education, military service or entering the workplace.  Whichever path a student chooses our business courses provide an edge, exposing students to concepts, applications and skills needed to succeed in the future workplace, as well as in everyday life. In the coming decades, some of the highest growth industries are ones that will draw upon the skills found in the business courses at Connetquot High School.

In addition to an expansive selection of courses, we offer students the opportunity to learn more about business through our DECA chapter, school store and National Business Honor Society.  DECA is a national club that enhances the education of students with interest in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. DECA helps students to develop skills and competence for marketing careers, to build self-esteem, to experience leadership and to practice community service.  Students manage our school store, which provides them real life opportunities to learn how to market, advertise and generate revenue for the business scholarships.

The Connetquot Chapter of the National Business Honor Society is a national organization honoring students who have a strong interest in business and have excelled in a variety of business classes prior to their junior year while maintaining an honor roll status in all of their course work.
